So long, summer

New earrings ready for the event
Even though it's still a month away I'm starting to feel a bit of autumn creeping in.  Maybe it has something to do with all of the Halloween and Christmas decorations already flooding the stores.  I went to the grocery store yesterday and it looked like Oogie Boogie exploded through the aisles.

It might seem that I'm not happy about this.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I'm ecstatic.  I know there are places in the country where the people are living it up this time of year.  But for us in the desert of Arizona we are itching to come out of hibernation, out from the confines of our grossly overpriced power bills brought on by necessary blasting of the air conditioner 24/7.

Autumn is on its way and I welcome it with open arms and a tentative peek through the peephole.

This year I will be vending at Phoenix Pagan Pride Day again.  I've started bulking up on inventory but I'm far from ready.  I know it's going to be the mad sprint in the last seven days that I've grown so accustomed to.  It seems against my very nature to get anything accomplished ahead of time.  Last year I was pulling items from the oven and drying racks the morning of the event.

This year there is the added stress of not only co-leading the event itself but also performing live for a 45 minute set.  When I say I'm gonna do something I sure do go all out.

But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited.  I love performing, I love being creative, and I even love the stress of these events.  Now if I could just break that dang "procrastination" gene that I've been cursed with...
